Iriao is a Georgian ethno-jazz group founded in Tibilisi. Their leader, pianist David Malazonia aims to merge classic Georgian singing and folklore with modern jazz. For that reason, Iriao features a men’s vocal trio, a traditional rhythm section and percussion instruments. Concerts by Iriao provide genuine musical entertainment, where subtle sounds and melodies are interlaced with lively improvisation. Quickly rising to fame and becoming Georgia’s staple cultural export, Iriao will make their debut in Poland during the Different Sounds Festival.
