Armenian Ark | Armenian Genocide of 1915 – poster exhibition
Exhibition of posters created for the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in Contemporary Graphic and Art Posters 2001–2015 project – an international initiative in a form of a graphical contest for a poster commemorating the genocide of Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire during the World War I, between 1915 and 1917. The aim of the artists participating in the project is to show art as one of the most powerful tools of presenting historical events and shaping public opinions when it comes to the problem of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The initiators of the project assure that it is not aimed against Turkish people. Its purpose is to educate wide audiences and to relay the true history of the genocide. They also hope that the project will help in cultivating history and will encourage contemporary graphic artists in Armenia to work on the subject. The works are educational, and are hoped to help in the educational efforts around the world.
