Different Sounds Zone in April brings a meeting with Lonker See, a quartet from Poland’s Tricity. Their original music, uniquely fusing such genres as jazz, post rock, psychedelia or noise, fits perfectly our formula of “different sounds”, that is music which seeks new sounds and evades simple classifications. Lonker See, having had their recent album released by Music is the Weapon, have been receiving many positive reviews. They are considered one of the most interesting bands in its style. We will be able to check what they sound like live on 6 April 2018 at Workshops of Culture in Lublin.
LONKER SEE is a project that began as an ambient duet consisting of Bartosz Boro Borowski and Joanna Kucharska, known from 1926 or Kiev Office. Having recorded the EP, the band decided to expand by inviting into their ranks the acclaimed jazz performers from the Tricity – Tomek Gadecki and Michał Goss and to change the music format by exploring a wider range of genres. Lonker See’s music contains such elements as jazz, space rock and psychedelia. It’s very open, based on long forms and leaves much space for improvisation. Lonker See’s debut album, “Split image” was released in April 2016 by Music is the Weapon. After its release, the band gave a lot of concerts and in February 2017 Instant Classic released a well-received split featuring the Sosnowiec-based band Arrm and after that they toured again. Recently, Music is the Weapon has released a double album Lonker Sessions and Live at Pijana Czapla.
