Eastreet 3 – official opening
Another edition of the world’s only large presentation of street photography from Eastern Europe – the previous two editions featured a total of over 200 images taken by photographers from 22 countries.
Once again we would like to look at the individual in the public spaces of Eastern Europe, through non-posed, spontaneous images which employ the language of street photography. Its formula matches the subject matter perfectly. However, it is not defined conservatively – the exhibition will also feature documentary photos. We would like to explore the boundaries of the genre, look for new solutions and inspirations.
In just 6 weeks more than 10 thousand photos were sent by authors from around the world. The team of curators managed to select 82 photos by authors from 18 Eastern European countries. The chosen photographs will be presented as part of an exhibition in a gallery and during a parallel outdoor exhibition.
The idea of the project is evolving – Eastreet is not only an exhibition, but also a platform for dialogue, integration and education for authors who work and create in Eastern Europe. This year the exhibition will be accompanied by a set of special educational events.
