Parallel to the adult East of Culture – Different Sounds, between 27-30 June we will also hold a series of events for children, teens and families.

Loop Lublin!
A workshop during which we will create and record a song. The participants will actively take part in the process of creating lyrics, music and arranging the song. This time, we will go on the music adventure with CeZik – an extraordinary vocalist, multi0instrumentalist, composer and arranger. CeZik has proven that you can play everything, and that to create a song you only need imagination and a sense of humour.

Make a clip!

The participants will make a video clip to accompany the song recorded with CeZik. The group, under the supervision of the director, will work on the entire project: theme, execution, the selection of shots and editing. The participants will be trained in using equipment (GoPro camera, filming drones), learn the basics of filming as well as the rules and techniques of editing. The main idea is to approach the chosen theme in an unconventional way , draw out the creative potential of the participants and leave most of the decisions and actions in their hands. Young filmmakers will become responsible creators, and not simply followers of someone else’s vision and orders.

Optical Music

How to make optical music? With the help of the creator of animation Norman MacLaren. You need to mix basic colours from Isaac Newton’s colour wheel, add Wassyli Kandinsky’s synaesthesia and colourful keyboards created in the 17th and 18th centuries, in order to hear the sounds of dots, dashes or squares. But because these ingredients aren’t easily available nowadays, you can just attend the workshop. We will introduce several personalities who have contributed to the development of the colourful music, we will see a few animated films which will show how colours play and at the end awaits us a real   crème de la crème – we will draw music under the direction of Asia Mina / Joanna Bronisławska and with the help of Agata Hofelmajer-Roś.

How to talk about music and how to listen to it? Is music for everyone?

We will listen to various genres of music and think about the role it plays in our lives. We will learn to talk about music the way we talk about a good acquaintance. We will consider whether “classical music” is really classical and whether everyone can listen to it. We will play with music and maybe even create our own, original piece.  Instructor: Izabela Urban
