Little Different Sounds: DIY – Make your own instrument
DIY – Make your own instrument/ Instructor: Paweł Romańczuk / for ages 7+ with parents
DIY – Make your own instrument is a workshop focused on making musical instruments. “DIY” is a well-known term. It means both a cheap, self-made product that imitates the original and an original work that is a prototype. “DIY” workshop concerns both types of activity, they aim at discovering own solutions for building experimental instruments as well as foster amateur activity, an uninhibited exploration that embraces both expected successes and creative failures. Every workshop participant can try to build a music-making object, using the technique and learning from the experience of workshop instructors. While working, we will learn how instruments work and how to enhance even the quietest of sounds in a simple way. An important aspect of the workshop is the low price and availability of materials that we will use to make the objects.
