Little Different Sounds: MusicOn
11:00-12:30
A meeting with a unique instrument. The participants will learn how to play an original, visually appealing instrument. Musicon is a unique musical instrument designed to stimulate children’s development, both physical and mental. It makes it possible to compose and simultaneously play the pieces. It operates just like a barrel organ or a music box – simple mechanisms produce sounds. Owing to its simplicity, children intuitively know how to use it, strive to make it happen that through experimentation and constant trials which are always successful. Musicon inspires, fascinates with its movement, sound and endless possibilities. It involves children in activities strictly fostering the development of creativity. It fosters the development of fine motor skills, abstract thinking, social skills and imagination. Musicon was Kamil Laszuk’s graduation project at Fine Arts Academy in Wrocław in 2011. In this project he combines two passions – design and music. Before he got round to designing it, he had written a thesis on the influence of music on the psycho-physical development of children.
