Mouse on Mars

Legends of the German electronic music scene. They have been setting the tone and direction of the music for nearly 30 years. In 1993, two childhood friends, Andi Toma and Jan St. Wermer set up a project under the intriguing name Mouse on Mars. Since then, they have been smoothly jumping between styles, experimenting with techno, IDM, ambient, alternative rock, electronic dance music, and contemporary music or krautrock. Each of these elements has brought something new and fresh into their music and strengthened the image of Mouse on Mars as leading representatives of ambitious European electronic music. Over time, the artists have also begun to skilfully combine electronic and synthetic sounds with unplugged music using wind, string and percussion instruments. Their projects involve both human musicians and AI. Moreover, the group does not shy away from working with other artists, like their studio and live collaborations with another legendary group, Stereolab.
