Move East Movie: How we play the revolution

dir. Giedrė Žickytė, FRA / LTU 2012, 67 min.

A famous Lithuanian documentary presenting the story of the incredible members of the group Antis and the turbulent 1980s.  Life in the USSR was neither easy nor pleasant. Oppressive regime relying on total control, orders and absurd rules sucked out energy out of people and took away the hope for a better tomorrow. However, there were moments and events that slipped past the regime and united people. One of them was exactly the band Antis,  that had meant to be a one-time joke. However, it quickly turned out that the idea of freedom built on intellect, humour and excellent creations of the artists quickly gave rise to a new countercultural, revolutionary movement.
