Paradjanov – Armenian cinema

A movie about Sergei Parajanov, an Armenian director, a genius and a provocateur. His movies gained international acclaim, however, his bold and uncompromising style wasn’t popular among the soviet authorities. He spent many years in jail and house arrest. The movie depicts the most important events of his life. The director of the picture, Serge Avedikian, plays the protagonist.
Serge Avedikian – a French actor and director of Armenian descent, born in 1955 in Yerevan. When he was 15 he emigrated to France together with his family. He studied in the Medon Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. He acted in theatre, movies and in television productions. As a director he created many documentary, short and animated movies. His animated picture, „Barking Island”, won the Golden Palm for the best short film during the Cannes Festival in 2010. „Paradjanov”, in which he plays the main role, is his first feature film.
Olena Fetisova – Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, producer, born in 1964 in Kiev. In 1987 she graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. In 2001, she started the Interfilm Production Studio. Many of her films have won awards at international film festivals. The film „Paradjanov” is her directorial debut in a feature film.
